Today, Microsoft is rolling out the April Xbox One system update, and this new update includes a variety of features and improvements, which will help owners of the console troubleshoot problems and access to game content more easily. The update also brings changes to achievements notifications, What’s On, and much more.
Here is the breakdown:
Party chat: The new Xbox One update brings new icons and notifications that will help you see the connection and microphone status. You’ll also get help from the party chat app when there are problems with privacy settings or networking issues that won’t let you establish communication with members of the party.
Game hub: Now you see activity feed items when your friends follow a particular game, and from the item, you can now jump to that particular game hub.
Achievement notifications: With the April roll out, the next time you learn a new achievement, you’ll see a notification with a title of the achievement and a description without having to open the achievements app.
What’s On: This new section is now available in the U.S., Canada, and the UK. Xbox One owners will find the new What’s On section, links to popular games, videos, movies, TV shows, Trending TV shows (if you have set up OneGuide), and a lot more content.
Previously, Microsoft also rolled out to Preview members: voice messaging, which as the name implies, it’ll allow users to compose and playback video messages, and dedicated servers to provide a more reliable party chat experience for those users with NAT issues. However, it seems these particular features need more work, as the company is not including either of them in the Xbox One system update for April, but you can expect them to roll out in future updates.
The update is rolling out immediately, but it may take some time before it reaches every console.
